Super MVP -- Nick Foles

Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles with his baby daughter, Lily, after being named Super Bowl MVP.

What a Super Bowl, and what a victory for the Philadelphia Eagles, bringing home the Vince Lombardi to Philadelphia for the first time in history.

It was a great game, but for me the best part was the calm, cool play of Nick Foles, the substitute quarterback who almost quit football just a year ago. Foles had been inserted as the Eagles' quarterback late in the season following a devastating ACL injury to franchise quarterback Carson Wentz, who was having an MVP type season.

All Foles did was lead his team to victory over two playoff opponents, the Falcons and the Vikings, and then tonight he outgunned Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LII 41-33 in a thrilling game that went down to the final gun. Foles was sharp, unflustered, and shredded the New England defense when it mattered most.

It was an incredible, gutsy performance and in the end, when he was named the game's most valuable player, Foles said it was his dream as a young boy to play and win the Super Bowl, and he encouraged all the young football players watching, saying that one day they could be standing there as well, holding the Lombardi Trophy.

Congratulations, Nick Foles. You and your teammates played a hell of a game and you deserve your victory.
