Congressman's Six Siblings Back His Opponent: A Lesson for GOP

Rep. Paul Gosar at IRS Tea Party rally.

Man, you have to be some kind of weirdo slime ball if you have managed to get elected to Congress and when you run for reelection your six brothers and sisters are so disgusted that they actually cut an ad attacking you and to support your opponent.

Rep. Paul Gosar

That actually is happening right now to Rep Paul A. Gosar (R-AZ). Imagine that!

Goser's brothers and sisters, Tim, Jennifer, Gaston, Joan, Grace and David, are in campaign advertisements for David Brill, the Democrat who is seeking to unseat Brill in Arizona’s 4th Congressional District.

In a TV ad, the Gosar siblings endorsed Brill as a matter of values, saying their brother, who has long espoused far-right views, and his politics were simply too much for them to stomach. To view the ad, click here.

“We gotta stand up for our good name,” David Gosar said in the advertisement. “This is not who we are.”

“I couldn’t be quiet any longer, nor should any of us be,” Grace Gosar said.

“I think my brother has traded a lot of the values we had at our kitchen table,” said another sister, Joan.

Another brother, David Gosar, Jackson, WY attorney, said he spoke out against his brother because “There isn’t a kooky, crazy, nutty thing that he isn’t a part of,” Gosar told The Washington Post. “What are we supposed to do?”

Gosar, a dentist, responded by accusing his siblings of being liberal Democrats who hate Donald Trump.

Seems to me the Gosar clan is setting a good example for Republicans in Congress when it comes to allowing Donald Trump to take over the Grand Old Party.

They should listen to those words:

"We gotta stand up for our good name. This is not who we are."

"I couldn't be quite any longer, nor should any of us be."

Exactly what GOP leaders should be saying today.
