The Madness of King Donald

If you blink, you are likely to miss the latest act of instability by the White House and its defenders. During the Sunday morning shows, several prominent Republicans claimed that Trump wasn’t serious when he stated that China should investigate his chief rival, former Vice President Joe Biden and his family.

Meanwhile, Trump has unilaterally declared that he will withdraw troops from Syria, leaving at the mercy of Turkish aggression the minority Kurdish population, who have been staunch American allies in fighting ISIS. This move has drawn rare and swift bilateral condemnation, even from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

Ironically, Graham, who has become Trump’s BFF, wasn’t even consulted by his master before announcing his decision on Syria.

Trump responded in true unhinged fashion, saying he had “great and unmatched wisdom” in allowing Turkey to handle the situation in Syria.

As if this weren’t enough, Trump continued his rants against the impeachment process by calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D- N.Y.) be charged with treason. He also demanded that he be allowed to meet the whistleblower, while at the same time issuing a veiled threat against the same person, prompting right wing outlets to issue a $50,000 reward to obtain the whistleblower’s identity.

This has led to the unprecedented move by Democrats who want to shield the whistleblower’s identity based on these threats.

And then there is the continuing saga of his tax returns. Trump’s lawyers made the extraordinary claim that while he is president, Trump is immune, not only from prosecution, but even investigation. This is all related to the alleged payments he made to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. His lawyers quickly, and predictably, appealed the decision and were granted yet another delay into just how much his financial entanglements are influencing his decisions.

In essence, he is claiming he has some divine authority to prevent any attacks on him and his actions. This is the exact type of madness that drove us to separate from England; a totalitarian ruler who descended into madness who eventually divided his subjects into such camps as to cause a revolution, similar to the Civil War Trump suggested if he were to be impeached.

Indeed, madness reigns.

Isn't there a psychiatric term for people who think Deity is behind or in favor of their actions? Graham needs to wake up! He think he is Trump's BFF but I think from Trump's perspective it is all about what people can do for him only. The few Republicans I know have switched parties excepting one and he hopes that there will be a Republican presidential candidate who could actually win the election and take over. I personally have no idea how anyone can still support Trump. Ugh!
