Trump Can Run, but He Can't Hide

Donald Trump, crushed by Kamala Harris in Tuesday night’s debate, campaigned in Tuscon, Arizonayesterday, but neither he nor his MAGA followers could hide from his disastrous debate performance.

The Democratic National Committee displayed a new mobile that circled the Tuscon Music Hall throughout the day. With clips from the debate, it showed Harris calling out Trump’s incoherent rants, fragile ego, and self-serving agenda.

Donald Trump, crushed by Kamala Harris in Tuesday night’s debate, campaigned in Tucson, Arizona Thursday, but neither he nor his MAGA followers could hide – even though they’d like to given his disastrous debate performance.

Now, Trump has announced that he will not participate in second debate with Harris, claiming that he won Tuesday's affair and effectively made all of his key points about immigration and the economy. However, even the bookies agreed he lost badly and the smart money is now on Harris.

BetOnline.ag tweeted minutes before the debate that 50.9% of the money wagered on the election was on Harris while 49.1% was on Trump: https://x.com/BetOnline_ag/status/1833656308983124194

BetOnline.ag said the money has significantly shifted toward Harris, with 54.4% of the handle on the VP. We're talking about money here, folks. That's serious.

“There will be no third debate!” Trump wrote in all caps on Truth Social, “When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I want a rematch’” the former president wrote before claiming he “won the debate” based on undisclosed polls that nobody else apparently has seen.

So go ahead, Trump, run from another debate. But you can't hide. There are now 53 days until the election, plenty of time for Harris to continue exposing his lies, his attacks against women and minorities, and his foolish, bizarre behavior to the American voters.

In fact, the Democratic National Committee launched a new mobile billboard to circle the Tucson Music Hall where Trump was to speak Thursday, showing clips from the debate uplifting Harris’ leadership as she calls out Trump’s incoherent rants, fragile ego, and self-serving agenda.

Trump Can Run, but He Can't Hide

So, no matter where they went on the streets around the Music Hall where Trump spoke, rally goers, Trump, and his entourage could not escape the billboard and its message.

Meanwhile, according to the Washington Post, Republicans are in hide mode. “Congressional Republicans try to hide from Trump’s debate performance,” sceamed the headline.

Here’s an excerpt from the story:

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) focused entirely on a failed government funding plan. What did he think of Trump’s debate performance, reporters asked him. Johnson walked away, into the House chamber.

Across the Capitol, Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), the No. 2 GOP leader, fell into the passive voice to avoid criticizing Trump when asked about the missed opportunity to define Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Well, um, that job’s got to get done,” said Thune, who is asking colleagues to promote him to majority leader.

Who should take up that task? Thune ducked into a closed luncheon for GOP senators without answering the question.

That’s hardly a ringing endorsement from the two people who, if he won the presidency, Trump would rely on to advance his agenda on Capitol Hill.

So, while Thune and Johnson can run and hide from reporters’ questions, Trump rally goers could not do the same as they traveedl to the Music Hall in Tucson, or if they left early out of boredom with Trump and his constant whining and ridiculous claims, like immigrants from Haiti eating peoples’ pets, or calling on the likes of “the late great Hannibal Lecter”, as he did at a rally in Iowa.

Assassination Attempt Conspiracy Theory

During the debate, Trump said he “took a bullet to the head” in Butler, PA, probably because of Democratic rhetoric. Now, he’s starting to use that scratched ear as a claim that he was shot in the head during an assassination attempt, even suggesting that somehow the Democrats were behind the shooting.

Even so, Trump apparently is making a killing from that photo of him raising his fist as red liquid ran down the side of his face. The Trump people have turned that into a fundraising initiative, selling everything from T-shirts to Christmas ornaments adorned with that fist-pump image.

There are plenty of skeptics who openly wonder if that entire event actually was staged by Trump and his supporters. That question is all over social media as photos of Trump shortly after event showed no evidence of any wound to the ear. So where did that red stuff come from?

We all know that Trump likes to use catsup – he tossed it against the wall in the White House one time when he was angry. Maybe there was a little left in the bottle and he used it to touch up his ear to create that photo op.

At any rate, in Tucson, Trump and his MAGA crowd were treated with reminders of his crazy debate performance as they drove around the Music Hall.

Like I said in the beginning, Trump can run, but he can't hide.
