It's All About Me
BY A GUEST BLOGGER — Any person who runs for President of the United States is, of course, interested in the power afforded by such a position. And any person who becomes President of the United States realizes, quickly, that over and above the power, is the burden.
The burden to understand, protect, and defend the Constitution at all costs.
The burden to represent the interests of all Americans; to study, to learn, to understand how policy decisions will affect each segment of the citizenry.
The burden to thoughtfully honor our treaties, to respect and maintain America’s leadership role in the world as a powerful voice for democracy and humanity.
The burden, as Teddy Roosevelt once said, “to speak softly, and carry a big stick.”
The burden as Commander in Chief to carry the lives of all Americans serving our country, and their families, in his or her heart and hands.
On Friday, October 13, 2017, I told my husband that dismantling the Affordable Care Act was now the worst thing, what could be left?
On Monday, October 16, 2017, dishonoring American servicemen killed in action, lying about it, blaming others, belittling past presidents, became the worst.
What on earth can those families be feeling, used as pawns in a never-ending game of “it’s all about me?”
