For Trump, it's Mulligans Time

President Trump has taken a lot of heat, including from his own party, for saying with Russia's President Vladimir Putin at his side, "I don’t see any reason why it would be Russia" that interfered with the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.

So, today, Trump used a Mulligan. Now, I don't know if he actually paid money for this Mulligan like you do at some golf tournaments, or if he just decided he was due one. But whatever, Trump tried to do a "do-over," saying the what he meant to say was "I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia,’ sort of a double negative..."

So he's in trouble once again -- this time even with his Republican palsy walsies on Capitol Hill. You've heard them all on TV saying they're shocked and dismayed by Trump's comment -- especially after it came just one day after his own Justice Department indicted 12 Russian intelligence officials for meddling with our election.

But that wasn't the worst of it. Trump also said yesterday he'd been told by Dan Coats, director of national intelligence, that it was the Russians who meddled, but in the next sentence Trump appeared to take Putin at his word for "very strongly" denying such actions.

So today, in his televised mea culpa, Trump said he has the utmost respect for our intelligence agencies and that he accepts their findings that Russia did, indeed, screw with our election. Although he was quick to say that it had nothing to do with the outcome.

How in the hell would he know that?

Then Trump went on to say what a wonderful meeting he had at NATO and what a fantastic meeting he had in Great Britain with Prime Minister Theresa May and the Queen. I guess those thousands of people who protested his appearance in London didn't really happen and neither did that newspaper interview in which he said May pretty much is a weak idiot in her dealings with the European Union.

And earlier he said the EU was one of our major foes. What?

For me, it is embarrassing that we have a president who represents our country in this way. He talks big about making America first. But what he actually does harms our standing in the world, hurts those who supported him (even though they don't believe it), and puts our country in danger.

I was so disgusted with this today that I designed this new shirt and cap that are available in the Not Fake News store. Check it out.

President Trump, we all know you're a golfer and you obviously know about Mulligans. But these that you used today are preposterous.
