If you're waiting for Washington to fix healthcare in this country, healthcare entrepreneur and innovator Jeff Margolis has this advice: Don't bother.

Appearing on the latest episode of The Lean to the Left Podcast, Margolis discusses how information technology, innovation, and personal responsibility can all come together and result in a better, more equitable, and less costly healthcare system for America.

Over his 30-year career, Margolis is known for successfully applying technologies to address the complex problems facing the healthcare industry. He was involved in developing language about health improvement for individuals that eventually was included in the Affordable Care Act.

During the podcast, Margolis answers these questions:

  • How would you sum up the way healthcare is handled in the U.S.?

  • Does it matter that the current political divide may keep the Biden administration from passing any significant healthcare legislation? Why or why not?

  • In what ways has COVID-19 revealed the problems with our system?

  • You say that it’s possible to improve our healthcare system and at the same time reduce costs. What steps need to be taken to accomplish that?
