Impeach Joe Biden?

After the deadly airport attack, there were renewed calls for President Biden to be removed from office. Yes, you heard it right. The very same Republicans who refused to hold Donald Trump responsible for the January 6th insurrection are demanding that President Biden either resign of face impeachment.

The hypocrisy is astounding!

Listen to the podcast:

They completely ignore that the process of ending American involvement in Afghanistan was initiated by Donald Trump during his chaotic administration. Trump negotiated a peace deal with the Taliban, which has been declared a terrorist organization, without including the recognized Afghan government. This disregarded the longstanding policy that America does not negotiate with terrorists. It also was a slap in the face of Afghan allies who undoubtably felt abandoned by Americans with whom they fought side-by-side for the past two decades.

Despite this, it’s President Biden’s head that Republicans want on a platter.

In addition to calls for Biden’s impeachment or resignation, one South Carolina state representative has even gone as far as to suggest that Biden appoint Donald Trump to oversee the withdrawal of American combat troops from Afghanistan. Russell Fry (R), a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, said President Biden should appoint Trump “in a spirit of true bipartisanship”.

It’s enough to make your head explode!

As the chaotic exit from Afghanistan developed, the calls for President Biden’s impeachment grew. At the forefront was the man whose his lips are firmly planted on the orange one’s derrière, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Graham took to the airwaves of right wing media to declare that “Biden deserves to be impeached “ if every Afghan ally isn’t rescued from the war-torn nation. What an astonishing turn of events, given his staunch approval for Trump during BOTH impeachment trials.

Today, on CBS' Face the Nation, Graham repeated that call, saying Biden was guilty of "dereliction of duty".

Graham is joined by fellow ass-kisser, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) in calling for Biden to step down following the disorderly Afghan withdrawal. McCarthy’s political ambitions are well known. He wants to reclaim the House Speaker’s gavel and has even “joked” that he would use the gavel to attack current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, should this happen.

Not to be outdone, the man who cheered on the insurrectionists, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), joined by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), not only demanded Joe Biden resign or face impeachment, but also declared the same fate should befall Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Miley, following the deadly attacks at the Kabul airport.

Republican desire to impeach Joe Biden predates even his inauguration. Iowa’s Joni Ernst (R-IO) stated that Biden should be impeached as far back as February 2020, almost a year before the election and even before Biden decided to enter the presidential race. She cited Biden’s alleged involvement in some vague conspiracy with Ukraine as her reason to level charges at the yet undeclared candidate.

QAnon kook Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) introduced articles of impeachment the day following President Biden’s inauguration. When the supposed uprising, known as “The Storm”, which promised a triumphant return to power of the defeated Donald Trump, failed to materialize, Greene sought to have these same unproven charges of Ukrainian involvement while he was Vice President presented as proof that Biden was unfit for office.

She sought impeachment hearings again on August 20th of this year, citing the “border crisis”, the COVID-related eviction moratorium and his handling of the withdrawal in Afghanistan as reasons for this round of hearings that she was assured would end with either Biden’s removal or resignation.

The revenge-minded right has been looking for any misstep by the Biden administration. They continue to spread the Big Lie while claiming the dual impeachment trials were politically motivated. They echo the cries of “Witch Hunt” while refusing to investigate Donald Trump’s role in the January 6th insurrection.

While the crisis in Afghanistan will surely fade, the demands that Biden be impeached will continue. The pettiness of the petulant politicians on the right won’t allow them to let it go. And neither will Donald Trump as he continues to dispute the results of the 2020 election.

Give me a break!!

Why impeach a president for doing what's right and trying to fix the mess the previous president left him? 45 had 5000 Taliban members released from prison before he left office. Don't you think a lot if not all of them had something to do with the deaths of our servicemen and women?

Replying to

That was exactly my point. Republicans are crying for impeachment while they let -45 run roughshod over the Constitution.
